About Origin DeFi Governance
Origin Dollar Governance (OGV) serves as the governance and value accrual asset for Origin Dollar (OUSD) and Origin Ether (OETH). OGV relies on a veOGV (vote-escrowed OGV) framework, designed to allocate economic and decision-making influence to participants with the strongest commitment to the protocol’s long-term future. The veOGV approach was first modeled after Curve’s veCRV token design, and the team introduced features allowing OGV to be staked for several time periods from a single wallet, along with vote delegation.
With OGV, holders can lock their tokens for durations ranging from 1 week to 4 years in return for veOGV. Locking OGV through voting is irreversible, and veOGV cannot be transferred.
