Anatoly Aksakov said that some platforms may appear in Russia that provide transactions for the purchase and sale of digital assets. The central bank should be given more freedom so that it can create these "infrastructure facilities" faster, since the virtual asset market is extremely mobile, the deputy reasoned.
"As soon as the digital ruble becomes in demand, it is necessary that whoever owns bitcoin is interested in owning a digital ruble. Is he confident in us, trusts us and understands that the digital ruble will benefit him? He will sell his bitcoin for a digital ruble."
On July 30, the State Duma adopted a bill on the turnover of digital assets and mining. The document must be approved by the Federation Council and signed by the President, and then it will enter into force. Earlier, Anatoly Aksakov promised that from 2026, citizens of the country will be able to make payments in digital rubles abroad.
