Coinbase is launching a $15 million television promo campaign aimed at advertising the benefits of crypto payments. This is reported by Fox Business.
According to media reports, the company will show three videos on four TV channels during the broadcasts of the NBA playoffs.
The idea is to highlight how complex and expensive payment methods in traditional finance (TradFi) are compared to cryptocurrencies. The latter allow payments to be made almost instantly, cutting off intermediaries like banks and service providers, and also have other advantages.
"We have the illusion that when we use credit cards or Venmo, everything happens instantly. In fact, they are just part of a very complex channel wiring that is disguised by a digital interface," said Faryar Shirzad, chief policy Officer at Coinbase.
The company announced the preparation of the promo campaign in mid-April. Coinbase has posted videos on YouTube.

The first video shows the process of ordering, making and delivering pizza, as if it were similar to the movement of funds in TradFi. At each stage, different services take their share.
"It's not about pizza, it's about money. This happens every time you spend it or transfer it. We offer the best system: without intermediaries and commissions. This is how cryptocurrency works," the courier says at the end.

But in a video similar to the final slogan on the Coinbase channel, on behalf of the one-cent coin, it is told about the feeling of uselessness in fiat change. It is lost, forgotten in the form of change, accidentally thrown away or misused.
"Please digitize me so that I feel relevant," says the coin animation.

Recall that in February 2022, crypto companies showed a record number of ads as part of the Super Bowl. Coinbase paid $14 million to show a 60-second video with a QR code.
This year, no major industry player has applied for a video promotion during the largest sporting event in the United States.
