James Seyffart clarified that the deadline for the regulator's decision expires on September 21. After that, coordination with the Office of Money Circulation Control (OCC) and the Commission on Futures Trading will be required.
"There is definitely some movement regarding options on spot BTC-ETFs. The Chicago Board Options Exchange, Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange have re-submitted a completely new application, and it is likely to be approved in the fourth quarter," Seyffart said.
The analyst noted that in an updated form, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) proposes to change the rules to allow listing and trading of options on BTC-ETFs from Fidelity, Ark Invest/21Shares, Invesco, Franklin Templeton, VanEck, WisdomTree, Grayscale, Bitwise, BlackRock and Valkyrie.
Seyffart drew attention to the fact that there are many more pages in the new application, which means that the SEC has provided some comments on the document, which is a positive signal for issuers of the exchange product.
Previously, the Morgan Stanley management company allowed its 15,000 financial advisers to recommend bitcoin-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to clients.
