A farmer from Kenya received donations from the crypto community for the purchase of goats

X users have started sending Kenyan Richard Opani cryptocurrency to buy goats. Instead, he named them after tokens, networks, or famous personalities.

It all started with the fact that Opani told about buying an animal for Easter. He purchased a goat with the WLD tokens received after verification in Worldcoin (~$100) and named it after the co-founder of the project, Sam Altman.

After that, the participants of the crypto community began to send him coins to buy new goats, offering their nicknames. PoolTogether co-founder Leighton Cusack sent Opani $100.

The Kenyan farmer fulfilled his promise and named the goats Higher ("higher") and Base (in honor of the L2 solution).

The goat is enjoying as it name suggest 😂😂🤗🤗in respect of @lay2000lbs the name is \"base\" \"enjoy\" wow now i have total of three goats am very grateful Ill add as many more pic.twitter.com/dZ9FJkxi0M

Other well-known crypto players also decided to help Opani. CoinCenter's head of communications, Neeraj Agrawal, sent him $50 and asked him to name the goat after Castle Island Ventures general partner Nick Carter.

Carter himself transferred $100, offering the nickname Wolfram. An anonymous person under the nickname zkBrunny, who previously headed the ecosystem department at Aztec Network, sent $50 to a goat named Boaty McBoatface.

According to online data, Opani received more than $1,700 in various assets. He has already transferred some of the funds to crypto exchanges.

The user stated that he can keep a maximum of 15 goats, but there are already many more orders from the community. In the future, Opani promised to report on each animal.

Digital assets have been used for donations and support for people for a long time. For example, the developers of the meme cryptocurrency HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu (BITCOIN) are helping to build water wells for residents of Nigeria and sponsor a local children's football team.

Earlier, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin donated 99 ETH to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
