Hong Kong criminals have requested 660,000 USDT for the ransom of a child

On July 3, a group of people organized the kidnapping of a three-year-old boy in a Hong Kong shopping mall to extort a ransom of 660,000 USDT. This is reported by local media.

The incident was caught on CCTV cameras. They show the child being led away by a man, covering his mouth with a handkerchief.

The kidnappers then contacted the boy's parents via Telegram. They asked not to call the police "for the sake of the child's safety." To be released, the criminals demanded to buy USDT "on the over-the-counter market" and send money to their wallet.

Police officers from the Bureau of Organized Crime and Triads took over the investigation, although it is unknown who exactly informed them about the kidnapping.

On the morning of July 4, law enforcement officers reported on the successful arrest of two suspects and the rescue of the boy. The authorities have not yet released details.

Recall that in April, a Phuket court sentenced five Russians to prison terms for kidnapping a married couple from Belarus in order to extort 31 million baht (about $845,700) in cryptocurrency.

Earlier, a Chinese businessman was kidnapped from a golf course in England. The criminals demanded $15 million in bitcoins as a ransom.
