Google has introduced three new AI-based features for the desktop version of Chrome: the Lens service for image analysis, the Tab Compar shopping assistant, and natural language integration for search history.
In the coming days, Lens will be available to users around the world in the address bar and three-point menu. The new tool provides advanced information search functionality after selecting a part of the screen or clicking on an object:
you can select a part of the page and ask additional questions;it is possible to click on an object, such as a backpack in the picture, and find a similar item in different colors from different brands; With Lens, the user learns additional information, such as how much sunlight a plant needs or how to solve a mathematical equation.https://youtu.be/43YUCNEHBHU?si=0uqhXMtShFe02hF5Previously, Google has trained artificial intelligence to cope with complex mathematical problems.
Other innovations include the Tab Compare feature to help with purchases. Chrome will use artificial intelligence to offer a summary of similar products from several tabs, product characteristics, price, ratings, and functions. All information will be collected in one place in the form of a comparative table.
Compare products from different tabs on the same page in the form of a table. Data: Chrome. The third feature is an improved search history using AI. If a user wants to return to a previously visited site, but did not save it and forgot the name, you can use a query like this: "Which ice cream store did I visit last week"? The browser will show the corresponding pages.

— Google DeepMind (@GoogleDeepMind) August 1, 2024The new version of the neural network has attracted public attention due to the high test results. Developer Logan Kilpatrick noted that Gemini 1.5 Pro took the first place in the LMSYS rating — it tests AI in various tasks and assigns an overall rating.
Gemini 1.5 Pro received a score of 1300 points and took the first place. Data: X.It is unknown whether the experimental version of the neural network will be used by default. It is in the testing phase and can be withdrawn or changed.
Previously, DeepMind's robotics department implemented Gemini 1.5 Pro into the robot to teach it how to move around the office and respond to commands.
In August, Google released three new open source models of generative artificial intelligence.
Recall that in June, the corporation added the Gemini AI model to the sidebar of Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive for paid users.
