Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk does not intend to promote cryptocurrencies, at best, "as a joke." He stated this during the X Takeover podcast.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEkRY8TG2BUExpressing his opinion about bitcoin, he noted that the first cryptocurrency and, perhaps, some others have "their advantages". The billionaire also admitted that he sympathizes with Dogecoin (DOGE) because he likes "dogs and memes."
However, he made it clear that if someone discovers a video where he "pumps" any digital asset, then it is a deepfake.
Musk also called for "double checking whether his alleged statements regarding cryptocurrencies or platforms, quoted in X.
By his actions on the social network, its current owner has repeatedly provoked the growth of Dogecoin. In February 2023, the cryptocurrency meme exchange rate reacted to a series of tweets by Musk with his dog Floki.
In April, the price of the coin at the moment increased by 25% after changing the logo of the social network to the image of the asset's mascot. The return of the bluebird to its former place led to a drop in DOGE by 8%.
Later, Musk put "A" in the profile description, which caused a 9% jump in the quotes of the meme cryptocurrency.
Tesla and SpaceX companies keep bitcoins on their balance sheet. In January 2024, the entrepreneur allowed the use of digital gold as a monetary unit on Mars.
Recall that in June, users discovered a deepfake on YouTube with a Mask distributing "free bitcoins".
