US presidential candidate Thomas Ross uses artificial intelligence during the election campaign. Decrypt writes about this.
Ross won the election from the Transhumanist Party in May 2023. As an advisor, he uses the Emvee chatbot based on generative AI.
"I use Emvee specifically for [making] a strategy. It was she who suggested during the campaign to rely on conspiracy theories about AI and transhumanism, because the topic will attract attention and provoke discussions that can dispel myths," Ross noted.
The AI policy manager is based on Norn AI technology. The party promotes the idea of a cybernetic future, where neural networks and humanity exist with each other within the framework of a singularity.
Ross noted that his chances of winning the presidential race are slim, but the main goal is to raise awareness about transhumanism and combat AI—related misinformation.
According to him, artificial intelligence and blockchain technology can be used, among other things, to eradicate corruption in the government and identify the shadow turnover of money flowing into Washington.
"I have an initiative called Dark Audits, in which a third-party AI system checks federal officials and the source of their funds," Ross said.
Recall that in July, former US presidential candidate Zoltan Istvan expressed fears that AI calls into question the achievement of immortality.
