The number of active Polkadot addresses has exceeded 600,000
According to Parity Data, the number of active addresses in the Polkadot blockchain ecosystem has reached 605,200. Almost half of them, about 248,000 addresses, are linked to the Moonbeam blockchain.

More than 191,000 addresses have been created directly on the Polkadot network. The decentralized Internet of Things network Node has 66,063 active addresses, followed by the Polkadot Astar blockchain and the decentralized Bifrost liquid staking protocol with 24,262 and 16,907 addresses, respectively. Acala (15,586) and Manta (14,178) are also among the parachains with the most active addresses.

The number of unique accounts with a non-zero balance is steadily growing. By the end of March, their number exceeded 5.59 million, while at the end of February this figure totaled 5.53 million. Despite this growth, the total volume of transactions on the network remains relatively low. In March, a total of 11.58 million transactions were made on the Polkadot blockchain. The figure is slightly higher than the April figure (10.8 million transactions), but in December 2023, 31.78 million transactions were made in Polkadot.

"Activity in the Polkadot ecosystem continues to grow. Many applications use specially allocated block space to prevent network spam. Polkadot strives for flexibility without compromising the sustainability of the ecosystem. Ultimately, it's good for users.", — commented on new achievements of the Polkadot team.

In September last year, the developers of Polkadot announced plans to deploy an update that will expand the number of parachains in the ecosystem to thousands of pieces. This should increase the speed of transactions on the main network, the developers assure.
