The number of Bitcoin ATM has approached record levels

As of the end of June, the number of cryptomats in the world reached 38,278 units. The indicator approached the maximum of December 2022 at 39,541 devices, according to Coin ATM Radar data.

Since the beginning of the year, 2,564 new bitcoin ATM have been installed, which gave an increase in the total number of 17.8%. For the whole of 2023, the sector lost 2,861 units, immediately declining by about 11.5%.

By country, the United States remains the undisputed leader, accounting for 82% (31,968) of the total number of crypto-ATM. The share of Canada holding the second place in the rating is 7.7% (3028). In April, Australia took the third position, with an indicator of 2.8% (1107).

Among the operators, Bitcoin Depot holds the largest market share with 7,543 cryptocurrencies, or 19.7% of the total.

In January, CEO Brandon Mintz predicted an acceleration in the pace of installation of cryptomats after halving. However, after a record April since the beginning of the year (plus 716 devices), a decrease in May (minus 115) and a modest June figure of 377 deployed ATM followed.
