Commissions in the TON network have tripled

The developers of The Open Network (TON) blockchain have announced a threefold reduction in the amount of commission for transactions within the network. The relevant decision has been approved by the validators.

🎉 TON network fees have been reduced by 3x across the board in response to $TON’s recent growth!

The amount of transaction costs will vary depending on the value of the native token in US dollars. At a 1 TON price of $7, the commission for the first transaction with Jettons will be ~$0.06, for subsequent ones — ~ $0.04.

In addition, since April 16, a special discount has been valid for transactions with USDT based on TON: 0.02 TON instead of 0.032 TON for the first transaction and 0.0145 TON for subsequent ones.

In the next update of the node, developers will present the possibility of pre-compiling smart contracts.

\"The most popular smart contracts written in C++ will be embedded directly into the node, bypassing the need to execute TVM. This will reduce resource consumption and contract—related fees," the statement said.

At the time of writing, Toncoin is trading at $5.58, according to CoinGecko.

Recall that plans to reduce commissions in the TON blockchain were announced on April 16.

According to the previously published roadmap of the project for 2024, it is expected to introduce gas-free transactions, update Wallet 5.0 and develop a new Teleport cross-chain technology.
