On April 23, the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow granted a claim for the recovery of 18 billion rubles from the WEX system administrator Alexei Bilyuchenko (Ivanov). This was reported by journalist Irek Murtazin in his Telegram channel.
The plaintiff was the official operator of WEX— the Singapore company World Exchange Services, represented by the owner Igor Pravdin. Until July 2023, the exchange was owned by Dmitry "Sailor" Khavchenko.
The decision has not entered into force.
Earlier, World Exchange Services had already obtained through the court compensation of 3.1 billion rubles of WEX assets, which Bilyuchenko accused of embezzlement. In this case, the "red administrator" was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 rubles in September 2023.
Bilyuchenko himself called the punishment "too harsh." He also stated that all funds received by Pravdin were "personally authorized."..> distribute <...> between users" of the exchange as compensation for damages.
Recall that two former employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, who were investigating the WEX case, were arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list on charges of accepting bribes worth 4.9 billion rubles in cryptocurrencies from Bilyuchenko.
