The assistant answers questions, generates images and creates animations. It is based on the new large Llama 3 language model.

"We believe that Meta AI is the most intelligent AI assistant that you can use without restrictions," Mark Zuckerberg said.

Facebook Instagram, Facebook and Messenger apps have Meta AI built into the search bar, where users can ask questions.

The press release provides examples of requests for restaurant recommendations, vacation planning, or tips for decorating a new apartment.

The assistant is also available on the official website, where users can get help solving math problems or writing a professional email.

According to Meta representatives, the image creation feature will be available in beta on WhatsApp and on the website. It works as follows: first, users see a preview image when entering text, and MetaAI gives hints to adjust the final result. Illustrations can also be converted into animated GIFs and shared on messengers.

Meta introduced an AI assistant in September 2023. Since April 19, 2024, the tool has been available in several countries, including the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Recall that in April, the corporation announced the introduction of a next-generation AI chip.
