The Ukrainian startup Rarimo, whose success was recently noted by Vitalik Buterin, presented a solution for verifying the RariMe App. It uses ZKP technology and is designed to compete with Sam Altman's Worldcoin, CoinDesk writes.
The RatiMe App scans the passport using a smartphone, proving the uniqueness of the user by nationality/age/other parameters without disclosing confidential information.
This distinguishes the application from Worldcoin, which uses special orbs to digitize the iris.
"Just as dapp can verify its identity, it can now do the same with proof of citizenship or age and simply request proof," commented Kitty Horlick, director of Rarimo, a provider of Rarilabs.
In the first demo application scenario, dapp will use passport ZKS for programmable airdrop to citizens of certain countries.
"Privacy is freedom, and it no longer exists in the online space. RariMe aims to change this situation. It will enable users to become incognito by interacting on Web3 in a truly anonymous way," explained Lasha Antadze, co-founder of Rarimo.
Earlier, Buterin listed the use cases of cryptocurrencies in everyday life. In particular, he suggested using ZKP mechanisms to verify "identity, credentials or reputation."
Recall that in May, the developer named five architectural solutions of the Ethereum blockchain, which he would like to change if possible.
In April, the HumanCode project, offering to identify a person by a palm print and accessible to any smartphone user, entered into a partnership with the TON Society.
