Pepe Unchained vs. Mpeppe: Popular Crypto Presales Compared

Pepe is one of the most iconic memes of all time, spawning hundreds of meme coins. Although Pepe (PEPE) remains the king among these, it’s facing fierce competition, and it has already reached its growth potential.

Two of the biggest meme coin presales this year – Mpeppe (MPEPE) and Pepe Unchained (PEPU), both take a similar approach in differentiating themselves from the rest of the pack by adding tangible utility to the Pepe likeness.

Let’s take a look at both of these projects and compare what they bring to the table.

Mpeppe Presale – DeFi, GambleFi, And NFTs Under One Roof

Mpeppe sits at the intersection of sports, gambling, and meme coins. It combines the iconic Pepe likeness with DeFi and AI  functionalities. It aims to create a wide and accepting community by adopting the image of footballer Kylian Mbappé.

So far, Mpeppe has raised over $2.5 million in its presale, selling for $0.0021 per token. Looking at the tokenomics, we can see they’re quite favorable for early investors, with 50% of the total token supply going to the presale.

The token has gone viral with whales coming into the project, with the likes of Rafa Finance covering it as a potential game changer in the GambleFi space.

Mpeppe plans to launch an AI-powered casino where AI will be used to help tailor games to players’ preferences and give a personalized experience. On top of this, MPEPE will launch its Player Card NFTs, letting holders have unique NFTs of top sports players.

On the community side of things, Mpeppe has a solid following for a token still in its presale, with 2,500 members on Telegram and 1,300 followers on X (Twitter).

However, the project has been met with some controversy. Blockchain data shows the deployer account holds all of the tokens, and some buyers have complained that they haven’t received their tokens yet.

Pepe Unchained – Promising a New Era of Layer 2 Meme Coins

Pepe Unchained is an ambitious layer 2 project aiming to create a comprehensive ETH meme coin development environment. This would resolve the two biggest problems ETH meme coin developers & investors have – slow transactions and high fees.

Promising 100x faster speeds than ETH at a fraction of the fees, alongside a dedicated block explorer, PEPU could revolutionize ETH meme coin development. Investors are putting a lot of faith into this, with the token raising almost $13 million in its presale so far, selling for $0.009626 per token.

Looking at its tokenomics, PEPU dedicates 50% of its total 8 billion token supply to the presale, with 30% of that being allocated to staking at an estimated 159% P/A.

Expert sentiment has been extremely positive on the token. 99Bitcoins, a YouTuber with over 700,000 subscribers recently put out a video on the token. They praise its utility, tokenomics, and see its massive media reach as a large contributor to why it can become “the next Pepe.”

All this attention has led to an increase in PEPU’s following, with over 13,000 followers on X (Twitter), and over 7,000 members on Telegram.

As far as investor security goes, PEPU has undergone two security audits by SolidProof and Coinsult, neither of which has found any significant security flaws.

Pepe Unchained & Mpeppe – The Meme Battle

Mpeppe is earlier in its presale compared to PEPU, meaning investors can get in at lower prices. However, Pepe Unchained has raised 5x the funds so far, showing a lot more investor interest is going to the token.

The tokenomics are about equal, with 50% going to the presale and both tokens offering staking. In terms of memetic appeal, it’s hard to tell. MPEPE has the iconic image of Kylian Mbappé behind it, while PEPU seeks to create a renaissance in the traditional Pepe aesthetic.

At the end of the day, both tokens are meme coins, making community-building extremely important for future prices. PEPU’s following far exceeds MPEPE’s, with PEPU receiving significantly more media attention, covered in dozens of journals and YouTube channels alike.

On top of this, there’s the ever-important security aspect. A token with two full security audits – like Pepe Unchained – under its belt is likely to be a far more secure prospect than one marred with controversy like Mpeppe has recently seen.
