Tools for Humanity co-founders Sam Altman and Alex Blania met with Argentine President Javier Miley to discuss investments in the country. This is what The Block writes about.
The company is the main developer of tools for the Worldcoin project. The main product of the latter, the World ID protocol, is based on zero—knowledge evidence. It is a tool that allows people to be identified using biometric data or a phone number.
In December, the project released an updated version of World ID 2.0, integrated with several platforms, including Telegram, Reddit, Shopify and Minecraft, for password-free authorization.
"During the meeting, [the Worldcoin team] discussed the development of artificial intelligence, how to prepare humanity for artificial intelligence and potential investments in Argentina," the statement said.

— Tools For Humanity (@tfh_technology) May 29, 2024The work of Worldcoin has raised questions about data protection from regulators in many countries, including Argentina. The UK, France, Germany, and Kenya are also interested in the project's activities. The authorities of the latter rejected the request of the US government to reverse the decision to suspend the work of the project in the jurisdiction.
In March, the Portuguese authorities ordered Worldcoin to stop collecting biometric data for 90 days. The decision followed a similar ban in neighboring Spain.
Recall that Miley, who positioned himself as a supporter of bitcoin, won the presidential election in November 2023.
The new government approved the use of the first cryptocurrency as the contract currency, and the president proposed the legalization of digital assets.
However, the authorities withdrew the draft law on tax amnesty for cryptocurrencies due to the lack of consensus in parliament.
