Sergey Ryabkov: "BRICS countries are exploring the possibility of settlements in stablecoins"
Russian Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the BRICS countries are exploring the possibility of settlements in stablecoins. According to him, a channel has already been created for the exchange of information between regulators.

Ryabkov said that the option of developing a platform capable of connecting the digital currency systems of the central banks of the BRICS countries is being studied. BRICS includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia.

According to the Deputy Minister of Finance, discussions are underway on the unification of national financial communication systems, and a special exchange channel has already been created between central banks.

"In practical terms, several options are being considered. For example, calculations in stablecoins or the option of creating a platform that will unite the financial systems of its participants," Ryabkov said.

Earlier, Russian Presidential aide for Foreign Policy Yuri Ushakov said that the BRICS seeks to create an independent payment system based on blockchain and digital national assets.
