The Solana Foundation has launched tools that make it possible to turn any website or application into a gateway for cryptocurrency payments and other transactions on the blockchain.

— Solana Foundation (@SolanaFndn) June 25, 2024The Solana Actions solution is a set of APIs that allows you to return transactions on the blockchain for preview, signing and sending in various contexts. The latter can include QR codes, buttons or widgets in mobile and desktop applications, as well as websites.
"Actions makes it easier for developers to integrate what you can do in the Solana ecosystem right into your environment, allowing you to perform on-chain actions without having to navigate to another application or web page," the description says.
A tool called blinks is one of the ways to interact with Actions. It provides the ability to turn any action on Solana into a public link that can be shared. This means that any digital path that can be displayed as a URL becomes the starting point for transactions on Solana.
As possible examples of the use of blinks in the Solana Foundation, they gave:
the implementation of collecting donations for content creators on social networks without the need for complex wallet settings;Create custom NFTs or participate in management voting directly from the URL.The organization warned that using Actions and blinks is similar to connecting a wallet to dapps, so for security purposes it is worth using trusted sites. The domains of the launch partners of the Solana Foundation tools have been whitelisted.
Among the ecosystem projects that supported the solutions are Cubik, Sanctum, Tensor, Realms, Access, Jupiter, Helium, Truffle, Helius, Phantom and Backpack.
Recall that in February, a team of experts led by journalist Colin Wu concluded that the reason for periodic failures in Solana is the inability to cope with the growing volume of transactions.
In April, the developers updated the software as part of an effort to solve the problem of blockchain overload.
