Sony Group to relaunch Amber Japan crypto exchange under new S.BLOX brand
The multinational corporation Sony Group is rebranding the Amber Japan cryptocurrency exchange, which it acquired in August last year. To do this, the company has registered a new S.BLOX trademark.

The Tokyo-based S.BLOX company will provide support to Sony Group's core divisions to expand the corporation's capabilities in the cryptocurrency trading market. As part of the rebranding, the S.BLOX team will conduct an in-depth update of the user interface, as well as launch new extensions that improve its functionality and convenience for customers.

Sony Group noted that the multinational corporation is interested in taking a leading position in the developing Japanese digital asset market. To this end, the company has already invested in a number of national cryptocurrency startups, and since 2018 has been supporting scientific research in the field of blockchain by its own division of Sony Blockchain Solutions.

Earlier, the press service of the technology giant Sony Group said that the banking division of the Japanese entertainment conglomerate has begun testing its own stablecoin tied to the Japanese yen in the sandbox of the Polygon blockchain.
