Hearings on the cases of Gary Wang, the co-founder of the collapsed FTX exchange, and her ex-CTO, Nishad Singh, will be held in the fall. This is stated in court documents.
Singh will be sentenced on October 30 in New York, and Wang on November 20. Both former heads of the trading platform pleaded guilty and cooperated with the investigation.
The defendants face decades in prison, but they are likely to receive a "significant reduction in sentence" after the government's 5K1.1 petition, law firm partner Kennyhertz Perry and former federal prosecutor Brayden Perry said in an interview with The Block.
"Usually [5K1.1] indicates substantial assistance and cooperation with the authorities. In the status of a white-collar offender for the first time Singh and Wang are likely to receive a minimum prison sentence," he added.
According to Perry, the final verdict depends on "the amount of assistance provided and the final tentative verdict based on the investigation report of the main case."

At the same time, Wang revealed details about how the exchange used a random number to generate the volume of the insurance fund.
Recall that in November 2023, the jury found Bankman-Fried guilty on all counts. In March 2024, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison. The lawyers of the founder of the exchange filed an appeal against the court's decision.
In May, the court of the Southern District of New York sentenced Ryan Salame, ex-CEO of FTX's Bahamian division, to 7.5 years in prison.
