The court postponed the imprisonment of the ex-CEO of FTX's daughter due to a dog bite

The judge in the case of the former head of the Bahamian FTX division, Ryan Salame, allowed the latter to postpone the start of his prison sentence to October 13, 2024. The reason was the "bite by a German Shepherd" of a former top manager.

The ex-CEO needed surgery. For this reason, he will not be able to appear in prison on August 29, as previously planned.

In May, the court of the Southern District of New York sentenced Ryan Salame to 7.5 years in prison.

In September 2023, he pleaded guilty to criminal charges related to the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange. This is a conspiracy to make illegal donations and run an unlicensed money transfer business.

According to the US Department of Justice, he also received three years of probation, is obliged to pay $6 million in confiscation and more than $5 million in restitution.

Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the co-founder and former CEO of the platform, was found guilty by a jury on all counts in November 2023. In March 2024, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison. SBF's lawyers have filed an appeal against the court's decision.

Recall that before Salameh, Caroline Ellison, the former head of Alameda Research, and Gary Wang, the technical director of FTX, as well as Nishad Singh, the head of the engineering department of the exchange, agreed to plead guilty.
