The Bitcoin Office, together with the non-profit organization Proof of Workforce, will train people to use cryptocurrencies, identify new economic opportunities and promote bitcoin for workers, unions and pension funds. The office will also aim to strengthen Santa Monica's position as a "Bitcoin innovation center."
"In addition to educational efforts, the mission of the Bitcoin Office is to identify and enter into partnerships with participants in the cryptocurrency industry. They will actively contribute to the economic recovery of Santa Monica and create new employment opportunities," the city authorities said in a statement.
Also on October 18, the city will host the Bitcoin Peer to Pier festival, which will bring together bitcoin enthusiasts and industry participants.
Recall that El Salvador also had a large-scale project called "Bitcoin City". Unfortunately, after the announcement of plans to create a "Bitcoin City" in 2021, the project has not yet been launched.
