The owner of the pet, 62-year-old Atsuko Sato, in an address to Kabosu fans, said that the dog's disease was discovered at the end of 2022. However, the "invisible power and prayers of fans from all over the world" helped to keep life alive.
Sato took the animal from the kennel in 2008. Two years later, in 2010, the hostess photographed the pet crossing her paws on the couch. The woman posted the photo on her blog on Reddit, from where it flew apart, becoming a meme.
The photo inspired two software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer to create the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, which was initially perceived as a joke. DOGE is currently trading on major exchanges, ranking eighth in terms of market capitalization of cryptocurrencies with an indicator of $23 billion. Memtokens have become very popular, so other dog-themed coins appear, for example, Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Floki (FLOKI).
"The night before she died, she ate rice as usual and drank a lot of water. The next day, Kabosu died peacefully in her sleep, and I was there all the time and gently stroked her. Kabosu was the happiest dog in the world, and we felt like the happiest people raising such a pet," the dog's owner wrote.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is considered one of the most active fans of DOGE. The billionaire periodically posts tweets about DOGE on Twitter, which has repeatedly led to a sharp increase in the exchange rate of the coin. In 2022, Musk called DOGE a "people's cryptocurrency" that could be used for daily payments.
