The distribution of tokens of the ZKsync (ZK) L2 network faced criticism from the community, since only 13% of the 6 million unique wallets were allowed to access it, many of which turned out to be "sybils".
"The airdrop of 17.5% [of the ZK issue] to 695,232 addresses is the largest distribution of coins among users. Tokens do not have any vesting or blocking periods and are completely liquid on the first day. This amount exceeds the blocked banknotes for the Matter Labs team (16.1%) and its investors (17.2%)," the project's blog says.
Users will be able to request coins from next week until January 3, 2025. The stamp will be available from June 24, and you can check access to the distribution through the official checker.
However, some users complained that they did not have the right to airdrop.
How tf am I not eligible? I'm in tears seriously.. been using only one wallet, checked out and used different protocols. Ah, just so dissapointing...

To be eligible, users must meet certain criteria, including interacting with smart contracts and trading ERC-20 tokens in DeFi protocols.
According to Adam Cochran, founder of Cinneamhain Ventures, unlike ordinary users, it is too easy for airdrop hunters to meet the criteria of the ZKsync drop, since they could use scripts and bots to automate the process.
I love the zkSync guys but damn that was not a well planned airdrop from a sybil perspective.
Those criteria are easy to not hit as a real user, and easy to hit as a farmer, and had no anti-sybil program.

"Real users can only use a few decentralized applications or tokens on your network because it is new and there are few projects in it," he wrote.
The head of the Polygon security department, Mudit Gupta, agreed with his statement. He noted that the distribution of ZK "has become the easiest for the owners of sibyl farms.
zkSync airdrop is out.
Most farmable and farmed airdrop ever probably.
Almost no sybil filtering as far as I can see.
Anyone who knew the criteria could've easily farmed the shit out of it.
Makes you appreciate what LayerZero is trying to do with sybil filtering.
According to analysts of Sybil Horror 6, wallets for pharma can receive a total of 135 million ZK.
135,000,000 ZK for all sybils from the initial LZ Sybils list.
I hope ZkSync fixes their eligibility list and disqualifies sybils from it.
And say thank you to LayerZero Lab and Brian for their sybil hunting initiative.https://t.co/RCEa6geO3c pic.twitter.com/rhIt3hjNDP
Initially, the ZKsync team abandoned the "sybil" protection, because sometimes ordinary users were mistakenly labeled as bots due to filter settings.
Some noted that the developers had the opportunity to implement a security system, and information about sibyl was transmitted to them by the analytical firm Nansen.
What a cop-out from both parties @zksync and @nansen_ai .
Everyone knows you had this information at your fingertips and you expect people to believe you chose not to act on it because that was otherwise part of some proper procedure? Absolutely shameless. https://t.co/qCdWT75YHT
"Clearing up some confusion about ZKsync in the spirit of transparency: we provided Matter Labs with data on some specific wallet segments, like whales and known scammers. However, we did not engage in anti—sibiling and did not give recommendations on the distribution of coins itself," explained Nansen.
Earlier, Brian Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero Labs, announced the suspension of receiving reports on "farm" addresses to participate in the airdrop of the LayerZero protocol due to the influx of messages.
Prior to that, the owners of more than 100,000 "sybil" addresses voluntarily declared themselves as part of the initiative announced by the team.
Recall that in the near future, the distribution of tokens of the Taiko L2 project is expected, which will take place in parallel with the launch of the main network.
