YouTube Music and Deezer have introduced new AI features

Music listening services YouTube Music and Deezer have joined Spotify and Amazon Music in the race to integrate new AI services.

Radio Station and Shazam from YouTube Music

YouTube Music has introduced two new tools, writes TechCrunch:

the function of a talk radio using AI;an analogue of Shazam.

The first function allows you to create your own radio station by describing the desired songs. Requests can be as follows: "catchy pop choruses" or "upbeat pop anthems". The new functionality is available to some YouTube Premium users in the USA. In the future, it will be opened to more people, expanding the geography.

The second tool is an analogue of Shazam. Users can hum or play an excerpt of a song and find the original. Humming is a unique feature of the new YouTube service, as Shazam allows you to search for the name of a song only by its excerpt. The tool first became available to some Android users earlier this year, and now it has been opened to all people with iOS and Android.

AI playlists from Deezer

French online music streaming service Deezer has launched "Playlist with AI", a feature for creating AI—based playlists using promptov. 5% of users with a paid subscription will get access to the beta test of the new tool.

Users can create playlists using written prompts describing moods, genres, year, type of activity, and other variables. For example, you can ask Deezer to create a playlist of "early noughties pop rock for a workout" or "good mood 2010s for a training session."

"We are pleased to introduce this AI-based feature to Deezer users around the world. Regardless of whether you need the perfect musical composition for a workout, a romantic evening or a nostalgic trip to the past, our Playlist with AI feature will create a new musical experience in seconds and provide endless opportunities for easy discovery of new music," commented Alexandra Lelup, Vice President of Product at the company.

Deezer uses AI to improve the user experience and recommendations. The Deezer Flow function uses artificial intelligence to create mixes, an analogue of Shazam — SongCatcher — also functions on the basis of a neural network.

Spotify and Amazon Music are pioneers in AI

Other music services are already using AI. In April, Spotify streaming service introduced a beta version of the new AI Playlist option, which allows you to create a playlist based on promptov. In addition to standard queries by genre or era, the site uses neural networks to create a wider range of musical selections.

In the same month, Amazon Music announced a similar service called Maestro, a playlist generator using AI based on promptov. It was initially made available in the USA on iOS and Android.

🆕 A playlist perfectly catered to your mood? Even for crying 😭 and eating pasta🍝? Meet Maestro: Our #AI playlist generator that helps you create any playlist you can think of (plus the ones you can’t).

Recall that in May Spotify deleted thousands of AI-generated tracks, which amounts to "tens of thousands" of songs.
