Altered State Machine (ASM) is a decentralised protocol for Non-Fungible Intelligence (NFI), enabling users and developers to build, own, trade, and train AI agent experiences through NFTs and help drive the metaverse.

ASM AI Agents may consist of two NFTs: a Brain NFT and a Form. The ASM Brain is the foundation of an AI Agent, and every Brain uses a distinct Genome Matrix-an internal set of base values that shapes the Brain’s innate capabilities. After training, ASM Brains also gain Memories, which are learned behavioural approaches developed through Machine Learning in Artificial Intelligence Gyms. The Form is an optional layer that can serve as a visual or other representation of your AI Agent. Forms can themselves be NFTs, including traditional 2D or 3D art, character NFTs, aural experiences, a unique identifier, or a Voice Agent. Because a Form can be upgraded, traded, or swapped out, creating Agents for different environments or use cases can be highly flexible.

Using ASM, you can create, compete, and interact with AI Agents across multiple worlds, including gaming, financial tools, and multimedia experiences.
