Bitcoin Satoshi's Vision, commonly known as Bitcoin SV (BSV), is a fork of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) that increases the block size. Bitcoin SV was launched following the BCH fork in 2018. BCH itself traces back to a fork of the original Bitcoin (BTC) network. BSV’s goal is to bring to life the bitcoin vision laid out in the Bitcoin White Paper, the technical work authored by Satoshi Nakamoto. The project also wants to position itself as a leading peer-to-peer payment option while addressing concerns like limited scalability and transaction speed seen across many blockchain initiatives. Craig Wright, identified as the founder of BSV, says his project is the original Bitcoin and claims he is the person behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. He is reportedly working to establish this in court and is described as the copyright holder of the White Paper and early Bitcoin code in certain legal jurisdictions. Kelvin Eyre, noted as the second most active member of the BSV community, is described as a billionaire and as the founder of several gambling platforms.
Bitcoin SV prioritizes scalability. Craig Wright’s team removed what it calls artificial block size limits, and the block size on the network can reportedly reach 2 GB. Some supporters believe this helps keep closer to the original Satoshi vision. They often point to the historical block size numbers: at the start, BTC blocks were 32 MB, and later Satoshi reduced them to 1 MB in 2010, shortly before stepping away.
Bitcoin SV also highlights performance. Wright’s network is claimed to handle as much as 10,000 transactions per second on the mainnet. On the testnet, the reported figure is 50,000 operations.
Bitcoin SV states it can scale without set limits by relying on its infrastructure and Node Software. The codebase is open-source, and it’s designed so that anyone can run a node, provided they meet the key requirements needed for effective and peak mining.
BSV trades on the CEXs and DEXs shown in the list here. Some of the best-known platforms with higher liquidity include OKX, AscendEX, and Huobi Global. BSV’s price depends on the exchange you choose and broader market conditions. For the latest and historical BSV market pricing, check the price charts on this page.
