BoringDAO is a blockchain-based cross-chain platform that supports every crypto asset. Guided by a DAO structure, it focuses on two core functions: pegged token wrapping and asset transfers. These capabilities are delivered through its oPortal Bridge, oToken Tunnel, and Satellite City offerings.
The BORING token is BoringDAO’s native cryptocurrency. It serves as both a governance and utility token. The total supply is capped at 2,000,000,000 BORING, and 60% of that amount is planned for community distribution through minting and farming.
BoringDAO centers around three main products. oPortal Bridge is designed for cross-chain transfers, offering two bridge options: a Two-Way Bridge and a Native Bridge. With the Two-Way Bridge, users can move assets between Layer1 and Layer2 ecosystems. The goal is to transfer assets efficiently and quickly. The Native Bridge enables token movement across different blockchain networks by mapping tokens from one chain to another in a frictionless way, without relying on intermediate assets or third-party involvement.
Next is the oToken Tunnel. This product is built to wrap any crypto asset, with each blockchain asset having its own tunnel that can be set up on the platform. Tunnels make non-smart contract assets programmable and broaden their potential use. For instance, BTC can be wrapped into oBTC for use on the Ethereum network. To launch a new wrapping tunnel, a required amount of BORING must be staked to meet the minimum threshold.
Satellite City was introduced to increase capacity for the oBTC Tunnel. It includes collateral pools for ETH/USDT/USDC/DAI to support the oBTC Tunnel.
BORING is used for mining and staking, with the aim of earning yield farming rewards.
BORING is tradable on the CEXs and DEXs shown in the list here. Among the most widely used venues with the highest liquidity are MEXC Global, Gate.io, and OKX. BORING’s price can change based on the exchange you choose and broader market conditions. For current and historical market figures, check the price charts on this page.
