DataHighway's IoT parachain aims to act as a decentralized LPWAN roaming hub. It includes decentralized DNS for LoRaWAN roaming, enabling any LoRaWAN network operator to save and access roaming agreements on DataHighway's blockchain secure distributed database. The platform also provides billing, charging, dispute resolution, and adjustment policies, together with related logs.

LoRaWAN IoT devices owned by a data provider and activated through a network operator that has set up the appropriate roaming agreements and policies on DataHighway can roam while keeping continuous delivery of uplink data to the data buyers. These data buyers can subscribe via the Data Highway's Inter-Chain Data Market, supporting the Decentralized Applications (DApps) they build across multiple blockchains.

DataHighway's community members will be rewarded for running an advanced IoT parachain built on Polkadot. They can stake, govern, mine, and participate using the DHX token and its associated Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), along with the Inter-Chain Data Market.
