Deri Protocol is a derivatives platform built using blockchain technology. The platform allows users to hedge, speculate, arbitrage and trade on- chain. The protocol uses a non-custodial modified automatic market maker (AMM) mechanism to facilitate trades.
The DERI token is the protocol’s native cryptocurrency and powers the entire ecosystem. It is an ERC20 token and has a total supply of 469,497,679.
What are Deri Protocol key features and how does it work?
The platform offers products and services that provide traders with three major derivatives types: Perpetual Futures, Everlasting Options, and Power Perpetuals. Traders can also perform arbitrage trading with Deri Protocol.
In order to do so, the Deri Protocol makes use of innovative architecture. In particular, the platform uses an adapted variation of the Proactive Market Making (PMM), the DPMM, Deri Proactive Market Making. Liquidity is provided by liquidity providers held in pools which act as de-facto custodians. Traders can then deposit margins to open futures or options positions.
The mechanism includes funding and pricing tools for every funding fee-based perpetual derivative. In this manner, the DPMM simplifies the process of dealing with perpetual futures or everlasting options and prices. For example, with perpetual futures, the DPMM deploys an algorithm that pushes the mark price towards the trading direction whenever there is a trade. The resulting price change is proportional to the size of the trade conducted.
What is noteworthy about Deri Protocol?
The Deri Protocol operates its own governance system, known asthe Deri Improvement Proposal (DIP). Community members can contribute to the DIP and submit proposals via the DIP Submission Form. Proposals are discussed in the protocol’s discord governance community, and, if the community agrees to the proposal, they are put forward, reviewed, and voted on On-Chain by the entire Deri community. If approved, the proposal will be sent to developers to execute.
What can DERI be used for?
DERI, the platform’s native token, can be used to take part in Deri Protocol governance, and holders are also entitled to certain privileges. This includes liquidator qualification and VIP transaction fee discounts.
