Illuvium is an RPG-style sci-fi adventure game that runs on the Ethereum network. Players experience the game across seven alien landscapes. They step into the role of someone who survives an intergalactic mishap on an uncharted planet. Each Illuvial is represented as an NFT, which can be kept in a crypto wallet. 

To capture wild Illuvials, a player needs to form a capable squad by improving existing Illuvials. Illuvials are grouped into five classes: Fighter, Guardian, Rogue, Psion, and Empath. Every class comes with its own characteristics and set of attributes.

After capturing Illuvials and assembling a strong lineup, players can take part in the autobattler mode to fight against opponents.

Illuvium includes a marketplace called IlluviDEX, where players can trade and list their captured Illuvials and other in-game items, including farmed materials. The marketplace is designed with zero gas fees and supports instant trades through Immutable X integration.

What is noteworthy about Illuvium?

Oversight of the game is handled by the Illuvinati Council, which functions similarly to a DAO. ILV token holders can join the DAO, choose council members, and then receive decisions made by the Illuvinati Council. Quadratic voting is used to help distribute influence more evenly, so voting power from large ILV holders doesn’t carry as much weight.
