About Juno

The Juno Network operates as an open-source network on which decentralized applications can be built. Anyone can use the platform’s tools to create and deploy applications. This includes across the DeFi, Gaming and gamification, NFTs, as well as privacy-preserving protocols sectors. It is also worth mentioning that Juno is built using the Cosmos SDK, as such, its blockchain has inherited some of its features. Notably, this includes the Proof-of-Stake Tendermint Consensus mechanism.

The native asset of the Juno Network is JUNO. It is a utility token and is required for the network’s on-chain governance mechanisms.

What are Juno Network’s key features and how does it work?

Juno has developed innovative technology, including the CosmWasm smart contracts and InterWasm DAO, in order to power its platform. CosmWasm enables WebAssembly (WASM) virtual machines (VMs) to operate in the Cosmos SDK. Essentially, this means that decentralized applications written in many different languages can be built on top of blockchains in the form of WASM smart contracts. WASM is a programming language in itself that compiles the developer's language of choice into a portable virtual machine, applications can then be deployed across various chains.

What can JUNO be used for?

The Juno Network can be used by developers to deploy applications within a number of industries. This includes DeFi, Gaming, Launchpads, NFT marketplaces, and more. Some examples of launched applications on the Juno Network include:

Passage - An NFT marketplace built on JunoLoop Finance - An all-in-one platform comprising of a DEX, marketplace, and launchpadDAODAO - An application where teams can create and customize DAOs.
