Juno Network is an open-source platform designed for building decentralized applications. Anyone can make use of the network’s tools to create and launch apps, spanning DeFi, Gaming and gamification, NFTs, and privacy-focused protocol use cases. Juno is built with the Cosmos SDK, so its blockchain carries over some of Cosmos’ underlying characteristics-most importantly, the Proof-of-Stake Tendermint Consensus mechanism.
The native token of the Juno Network is JUNO. It functions as a utility asset and is needed to participate in the network’s on-chain governance processes.
Juno has created new technology to support the platform, including CosmWasm smart contracts and InterWasm DAO. CosmWasm allows WebAssembly (WASM) virtual machines (VMs) to run within the Cosmos SDK. In practice, this lets developers build decentralized applications in many different programming languages, using WASM smart contracts on top of blockchains. WASM itself is a programming language that can compile a developer’s preferred language into a portable virtual machine, after which applications can be deployed across different chains.
On Juno Network, developers can deploy applications across a range of sectors, such as DeFi, Gaming, Launchpads, and NFT marketplaces, among others. Examples of applications launched on the Juno Network include:
Passage - An NFT marketplace built on JunoLoop Finance - An all-in-one platform made up of a DEX, marketplace, and launchpadDAODAO - An application that lets teams create and customize DAOs.JUNO can be traded on the listed CEXs and DEXs. Among the most popular venues with the greatest liquidity are Osmosis, MEXC Global, and Kraken. JUNO’s price will change based on the exchange you use and broader market conditions.
