Locus Chain is a distributed blockchain platform designed to handle a minimum of 4K transactions per second across a decentralized network. Its network is expected to include a wide range of devices-such as standard home PCs, data center servers, mobile phones, and low-power IoT units-each with different CPU capabilities, storage availability, and network bandwidth. It also aims for quick transaction processing, with immediate consensus arriving within a few seconds and deterministic permanent consensus finalized within a few minutes.
Locus Chain reportedly supports high throughput using a DAG(Directed Acyclic Graph)-based AWTC(Account-Wise Transaction Chain) ledger design, alongside the Locus BFT consensus algorithm. It further states that it promotes decentralization by selecting, in each round, the committee involved in consensus via the Stochastic dPoS approach.
