About Merit Circle

Merit Circle is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that aims to shape the future of blockchain gaming. The project seeks to support the metaverse by backing play-to-earn titles and promoting adoption of its offerings worldwide.

The ecosystem’s native asset is the MC token. The token’s total supply is 1,000,000,000.

What are Merit Circle’s key features and how does it work?

Merit Circle’s DAO uses a distinctive infrastructure built to drive expansion. It is arranged in multiple layers and components. At the top sits the MainDAO. The MainDAO is responsible for governing the full ecosystem, creating yield farming returns, supporting a softer floor price for MC, and helping with the growth and development of subDAOs.

SubDAOs make up the second layer of the Merit Circle platform. Each subDAO aligns with Merit Circle’s involvement in particular play-to-earn games. For instance, there is a subDAO dedicated to Axie Infinity. These subDAOs are intended to scale their respective games, build NFTs for the game, and improve earning strategies. Earnings generated by each subDAO are redirected back into the wider ecosystem, and they may also fund activities in other subDAOs or be used for general platform upkeep.

Vaults form the next important layer in Merit Circle’s system. Each subDAO is connected to Vaults, which provide strategies that subDAOs can apply to pursue higher profits. Vaults are specific to each subDAO, since every game has its own earning model-requiring different strategies to optimize results.

Because NFTs are widely used in blockchain gaming, Merit Circle created its own marketplace where users can trade, buy, and sell NFTs used within games.

What is noteworthy about Merit Circle?

Alongside its products and services, Merit Circle also supports game incubation through its in-house gaming Studio. It assists non-Web3.0 games in moving into this space, while also helping Merit Circle’s own projects get built and backed. Edenhorde is one example of a game incubated through the Merit Circle DAO.

What can MC be used for?

Within the Merit Circle ecosystem, the MC token supports multiple functions. Most importantly, it is central to governance. Holding at least one MC token grants participation in the DAO. Community members can submit proposals in the Merit Circle forum for discussion, and token holders then vote to approve or decline them. One possible proposal theme is how MC treasury funds should be allocated. Voting is conducted through Merit Circle’s Snapshot voting platform.

MC can also be staked through the staking portal, letting holders potentially receive additional rewards for their MC tokens.
