What are Premia’s key features and how does it work?

On Premia, users can obtain options through its AMM. Traders choose option parameters such as the token pair, strike price, and maturity. When a trader finishes, they receive a quote for how much underlying asset they can receive for call options, and for the base asset for put options.

All options on Premia are fully collateralized. The involved tokens are locked immediately for the life of the option until settlement. Options can be purchased using any asset. If the asset used is not the option’s default payment token, it will be automatically exchanged into the correct asset and the payment is executed in a single transaction.

Premia options follow the ERC-1155 standard. The token holder can buy or sell the underlying token by a defined date. Options on Premia track the same token quantity-for instance, a 55 ETH call option grants the right to buy 55 ETH during the option’s execution period.

Premia uses a distinct pool pricing approach that is liquidity-aware and includes built-in market adjustments. The system derives price by comparing market supply and market demand to a risk-adjusted framework, helping the quoted price move toward market pricing even under volatile conditions.

What is noteworthy about Premia?

Premia is managed through a community-governed structure called the Premian Assembly. Decisions are made using snapshots votes. Proposals may be submitted by the wider community or by core members of the Premia protocol. There are multiple vote types, including Signal Votes and Core Votes. Signal votes are framed as core-member proposals aimed at gauging community interest, while Core Votes come from core members of the ecosystem or from successful Signal Votes that reached sufficient support.
