About SUN.io

SUN.io was launched to bring attention to TRON’s DeFi ecosystem and reach a broader audience, partly as a social experiment. At the core of the SUN.io platform is the creation of a DEX that uses multiple transaction protocols. It supports on-chain token swapping, liquidity mining, stablecoin swaps, and includes a DAO. SunSwap, the platform’s DEX, was introduced in 2020.

SUN serves as the platform’s native cryptocurrency, contributing to platform governance, liquidity provider rewards, and buy back and burn rewards. The token operates on TRON’s TRC-20 standard.

What are Sun’s key features and how does it work?

SunSwap is SUN.io’s main offering. It works as an exchange protocol for TRC20 standard tokens. SunSwap follows an AMM (Automated Market Maker) approach, rather than the order-book style commonly used by traditional exchanges. Under the AMM model, a constant-product equation is applied to set asset prices, enabling automated trades and helping keep liquidity available for trading pairs.

Token prices are based on the total token amounts held in each pool. The smart contract uses a constant function represented by the formula: x*y=k, where x = token1, y = token2, and k = a constant number.  A swap occurs when a specific amount of one token is exchanged for an amount of the other token within a pool. Because k does not change, token balances are updated, which in turn shifts prices. Trading fees collected are distributed to the protocol’s liquidity providers.

Anyone can set up their own trading pair pool, with TRX as one of the tokens. Participants receive rewards for using the protocol through staking and by supplying liquidity. SUN holders can also participate in governance-for instance, by submitting proposals and voting on updates to SUN.io’s development.
