Tectum’s fourth-generation layer one smart contract platform is built to operate as the world’s fastest blockchain, while also introducing a new layer of interoperability, scalability, and utility that makes earlier smart contract networks feel outdated. The platform is based on a fully original architecture aimed at maintaining fully decentralised consensus at 1 million transactions per second. During stress testing, it reached a terminal network speed of 1.38 million TPS, with nodes distributed across three continents. Tectum’s block size is 120 bytes, instead of the much larger block sizes used by other chains that can reach multiple Megabytes. With its design, each block includes the hash of only one transaction, making Tectum positioned as the fastest blockchain in both transactions per second and blocks per second.
SoftNote bill is the flagship offering within Tectum’s range of services and products. It functions as a digital representation of value; however, if it remains unfilled with currency, it carries no intrinsic value. SoftNote bills are identified and separated through distinctive serial numbers and denominations. When TET is used to mint SoftNotes, users receive unfilled SoftNote bills that must later be loaded with liquidity in order to work as intended. The SoftNote framework is meant to open access to retail cryptocurrency payments and is described as “the first transactionless payment system.” Because it is transactionless, it enables instant payment capabilities and supports a zero-fee policy for the end user.
The TET token originates from the Tectum blockchain and, when used on it, can mint SoftNote Bills. As a mint token, TET is the only means to mint SoftNote Bills. Additionally, every product provided by Tectum runs natively on the Tectum blockchain.
