Theta Network is a media and entertainment blockchain built for the next generation. With Theta infrastructure, established video and media services can unlock additional income streams and lower content delivery CDN expenses, while end-users are rewarded for providing storage and/or bandwidth from any PC, mobile, Smart TV, or IoT device. Theta Network uses a dual-token structure. The Theta Token (THETA) is the governance token for the Theta protocol. THETA can be staked to run as a Validator or Guardian node, where it supports block production and protocol governance across the Theta Network. When users stake and operate a node, they receive a share of the newly created TFUEL in proportion to their contribution. THETA’s total supply is fixed at 1 billion and is designed to never increase. Theta Fuel (TFUEL) is the operational token of the Theta protocol. TFUEL powers on-chain activities such as payments to Edge Node relayers for sharing a video stream, as well as deploying or interacting with smart contracts. Relayers receive TFUEL for each video stream they relay to other users on the network.
