About XDC Network

XDC Network is part of the XinFin platform and works as a “hybrid blockchain.” Designed for global trade and finance, it focuses on bringing public and private blockchains together using interoperable smart contracts. Developers can build decentralized applications and protocols on the network, including functionality for token issuance and token integration. The network also aims to keep costs low, deliver quick transaction confirmations, and use double validation and randomization to support fairness.

XDC is the platform’s native cryptocurrency. The network has a total supply of 37,774,071,193 tokens, and XDC serves as a utility token that supports the XinFin blockchain. Within decentralized applications running on the network, XDC is used for payment settlement.

What are XDC Network’s key features and how does it work?

The XDC blockchain runs on the XinFin Delegated Proof-of-Stake (XDPoS) consensus mechanism to maintain strong security. Network security is handled by 108 masternodes. To participate as a masternode, participants must deposit 10,000,000 XDC.

This design adds double validation for extra protection, randomization to improve fairness, and quick block confirmation. After a masternode creates a block, it is checked by another randomly chosen masternode, and then the block is appended to the XDC blockchain.

Some key features of the XinFin XDC blockchain include:

Support for all EVM-compatible smart contracts;Cross-chain atomic swaps

What is noteworthy about XDC Network?

The XinFin team has built multiple products that work alongside the XDC Network. This includes:

XinFinScan - Users can explore blocks, transactions, and smart contracts, along with token information for the XDC network.XinFinMaster - A dashboard that shows masternode performance statistics and additional masternode-related details.Xdcwallet - A wallet for storing, sending, and receiving any tokens issued on the XDC Network.

What can XDC Network be used for?

More broadly, the XDC token functions as a unit of exchange across the entire XinFin ecosystem. Developers can create applications on the network that use the platform’s capabilities and tokens. Examples mentioned include ChainFiles, an online notarization service, and Crypterium, a wallet for traditional and digital assets. XinFin has also introduced an ERC20 token, XDCE, which can be exchanged with XDC at a 1:1 ratio-allowing users to hold tokens on either network and potentially extend usage to the Ethereum network. Because the XDC blockchain is EVM-compatible, applications can be migrated from Ethereum to the XDC environment.

Where can you buy XDC?

XDC can be traded on the CEXs and DEXs listed here. The most widely used platforms with the highest liquidity are Huobi Global, Gate.io, and KuCoin. XDC pricing will change based on the exchange selected and broader market conditions. For current and historical market prices, you can check the price charts on this page.
