YFII (YFII’s For Innovative Investment) is a fork of Yearn Finance’s YFI blockchain initiative. It’s a DeFi project built around full community governance, featuring pools and a vault that provide a set of financial tools such as yield farming and staking. It emerged partly because YFI moved away from mining and farming.

YFII serves as the project’s native cryptocurrency, with a total supply of 40,000. Minting additional tokens is not possible. The token is used for governance and plays a key role in how the platform operates. 

What are DFI.Money’s key features and how does it work?

There are currently two pools on the platform. Participants can stake tokens and earn YFII as a reward-at the same time, staking via these pools is effectively the only way to obtain YFII. Each pool was assigned 20,000 YFII tokens. The first pool pairs YFII with CRV, while the second pairs YFII with BAL.

The platform also includes a vault called YFII Vault. It operates as a yield aggregator for farming pools. Using contracts designed to target higher APR opportunities, users can deposit tokens and automatically receive the generated yield according to the strategy that’s been set. The vault also allows users to propose their own strategies, which the community can vote on; the strategies with the most votes are the ones that get deployed.

When users deposit into the vault, they receive iTokens. These represent proof of deposit and enable withdrawals from the vault. iTokens are tradeable and transferable in the market, remain redeemable at all times, and accrue interest.

Because YFII governance is community-led, holders of YFII can submit proposals and vote on them. Proposals may be debated and adjusted through the YFII forums and different social media groups.

YFII can be traded on the CEXs and DEXs listed here. The most widely used venues with the highest liquidity are Binance, OKX, and P2PB2B.
